In addition to its restoration, the reredos contains paintings of people who are in the process of recognized sainthood or already canonized saints. The depicted faithful on the reredos have served or influenced the African-American or Latino communities. The ministries of the depicted faithful continue to be fruitful for Saint Joseph of the Holy Family and an inspiration as Christian witness to the faithful in Harlem. The paintings were done by Eduardo Bardo from London, England.
